We support innovative clients who want to go beyond nature-based solutions to Nature-informed projects. These clients recognize Nature as a primary stakeholder whose guidance leads to a smoother process and enhances the overall design.
We have found that engaging and working with Nature enables our projects to be more efficient, successful, and enjoyable. Projects- a building, a garden, an art installation- co-created with Nature carry a resonance of wholeness which soothes and enlivens our bodies.
Collaborating with Nature results in a creation that is healing both to people and Earth. Rather than imposing a design and trying to mitigate the impacts of it, your projects can actually enhance the unique place they are created for.
A Land Consultation is a custom process facilitated by Jen Frey to help your project align with Nature. This process can be a simple reading of the energies and well-being of the Land, an investigation of an "issue", or consulting with the Nature Beings throughout a design and/or implementation process.
This process is tailored specifically for your unique place and of course, the Beings with whom you want to work. By participating in a Land Consultation, you are accessing the energies, memories, and wisdom of Nature beyond our human frames, assumptions, and beliefs.
Nature
Representative
Include Nature as a true stakeholder and source direction from the place as Jen acts as the representative for the Nature Beings and Guides of your project. She will connect and communicate with these wise Beings to bring insight into your design process, receive permission, and help to keep your project in right-relationship with Nature.
Aligning
Energies
A project that feels stagnant, experiences significant conflict, or is a constant struggle often indicates that energies are out of alignment. Jen will communicate with the overall energy of the Land or the specific energies involved to understand the underlying issue, discover what is needed, and sometimes to negotiate an agreement that benefits all parties involved.
Co-Creative
Partnership
Guide
No one is more connected to an area of Land or project as much as those who love ki and spend their days there. Jen will assist you or your organization to engage in co-creative partnership and communicate directly with the Nature Beings of your special place. This can include tailoring her workshops specifically for your organization's needs.
When The Project Is The Healing
Land holds knowledge and memory, including trauma. This held trauma can interfere with your project if it is not cleared or healed first. Sometimes the project is the healing such as the Children's Labyrinth at Heritage Creek Farm Camp (HCFC).
Jen was commissioned to design a children's labyrinth for HCFC. The camp recently acquired an addition to their farm that had long been abused and depleted. As she engaged with the Spirits of this Land, Jen discovered that this Labyrinth provided an opportunity of healing. Encouraging the children to play and interact with Nature as they ran through the Labyrinth helped to shift the energies.

Ideal Beginning
While Jen can be brought into a project at any time, the ideal is to connect with the Nature Spirits before a project is conceived or even before considering what to create. This enables Jen to offer a Land assessment, highlighting both areas of strength and areas where the energies are out of balance.
Generally, the Nature Spirits of a place offer specific ways to interact or to help move into right alignment. They also may provide suggestions for projects to create, areas to focus on, Plants that are needed, or other helpful information.

Balancing Energies
Jen discovered a water imbalance at Heart Springs Sanctuary (HSS). Yes, they received an enormous amount of rain that year, but something more was happening. The septic system overflowed, the sump pumps were leaking and despite the excess water, the tap was dry or had a very low flow.
When Jen connected with the Spirits of HSS, she discovered that this Water imbalance was due to a lack of Fire. They told her that a strong fear of fire got stored in the Land after the previous stewards experienced a small house fire. The Nature Spirits suggested several ceremonies to remedy this, including more regular fire circles. After following their direction, the energies balance.

Receiving Guidance
There tends to be a fear that if we consult Nature about a building project or cutting down Trees, Nature will respond negatively. Yes, whenever we ask for permission, we need to be willing to hear "No." However, often there is more information that accompanies this response, which can lead to a stronger project.
For instance, perhaps we want to cut down a large Tree for a garden or a building. We might receive a "No" because that Tree is providing an important function for the Land. We would then be shown a better place to plant the garden or put the building. Nature appreciates when humans want to work in partnership, ki recognizes our attempts, and generally, is a very generous partner. (And yes, Trees have volunteered to be cut down.)

Asking For Help
Asking Nature Beings for their assistance in our project often reduces our workload and inputs.
With permission from the Nature Spirits of Heart Springs Sanctuary, Jen began gathering rocks to build a Labyrinth. Some of which needed to be rolled due to their large size. After weeks of rock collecting, Jen was prevented from gathering a smaller rock (on the right in picture). Most of the rock was above ground, seemingly easy to pull out. However, for days Jen tried to remove this rock without success. Finally, she decided to grab her shovel.
As she returned to the rock, she heard, "You did not ask for help." Realizing this to be true, Jen asked the Nature Spirits for help collecting Rocks. As she bent over preparing to grab the rock, she accidentally gently brushed ki. Suddenly, the rock came loose and was in her hands! Reminding Jen of the importance of working with the assistance of the Nature Spirits and demonstrating how often we waste human effort and resources as we struggle through a project.
