Egg Limpia: When to Do an Egg Cleanse Reading

Egg limpias (or an egg cleanse) are one of my favorite forms of energy hygiene. I find them to be incredibly effective at clearing unwanted energies and amazingly, when receiving one in person, they feel really good. I am frequently asked, “When should I do an egg cleanse reading or egg limpia?” The basic answer is any time that you are feeling off, stuck, low energy, weird things are occurring, after accidents, or as part of a regular energy maintenance plan. Though there’s more to that answer, so let’s explore egg cleanse readings.

But first, a little caution, while this article explains the basic process of an egg cleanse or egg limpia, know that any time we are engaging with or clearing energy (especially from others), we put ourselves at risk for repercussions from that energy, which can have grave impacts. Therefore it is vital that you have proper training for engaging with this energy and follow protocols including those for protecting and clearing yourself. Note that I find the egg cleanse process to be beautiful, safe, and incredibly effective and that is because I have had lots of training and practice both working with energy and doing egg limpias and I also have incredible more-than-human Guides who support me in this work.

What is an Egg Reading Cleanse

Cultures around the world engage in egg ceremonies to help clear our bodies of unwanted energies that we have either accumulated through daily living or that were directed to us (consciously or unconsciously). I learned how to do egg cleanses from Rocío Alarcón, an Ecuadorian curandera, and so the method that I use for egg reading cleanses is based on the Ecuadorian method also known as egg limpia.

Obviously we utilize an egg in an egg reading cleanse. We work with eggs because they are full of life-force energy and are able to attract and remove the unwanted energies from our body. Therefore, there are specific qualities that we look for in the eggs we use. They should be fresh, never refrigerated, fertilized, and from healthy, (truly) free-range or pasture raised, organic chickens. I enhance these energies by creating egg limpia Landscapes or altars to charge the eggs with supportive energies personalized for my client(s). The more vibrant the egg, the more potent the healing possibilities.

The basic process of an egg cleanse is to rub the egg (in the shell) over a person’s body (of course with their permission), starting at the head and moving down to the bottoms of the feet. The practitioner then cracks the egg in a glass of water and reads this. Afterwards, the egg, shell, and water are buried, transmuting the energies. [Note: you should not look at your own opened egg as there is a tendency to draw these energies back to you.]

Out of necessity, I discovered years ago that I could also do this process non-locally, cleansing my client’s energy body with an egg, with great effectiveness. Since, my clients live all around the world, most of the egg readings that I do now are non-local.

Reading an Egg Cleanse

Simply receiving an egg cleanse is incredibly helpful. However, they are an integral part of my HEARTransformation healing sessions because they provide information about my clients which often guides our session.

As I rub the egg over my client’s body or energy field, I tend to pick up messages, images, sensations, or emotions which give me information about my client’s experiences and what is wanting attention or wanting to be released. As we go through the process of the egg cleanse, the egg also gives me information. There are times, when it feels like I cannot move the egg off of a certain area. This feels almost like a strong magnet. I need to continue clearing this area (meaning that there is a lot of stagnant energy there) until the magnet feel shifts and I am once again able to move the egg freely. Other times, an egg starts to jump in my hand or even flies out of my hand. This is always shocking and is a sign that a large energy was cleared.

As I stated previously, when I am finished scrubbing my client’s energy body, I then crack the egg in a glass of water and “read” ki.* Reading an egg cleanse requires skill. I say that my reading level is about a 2nd grade level. However, a really good Egg Shaman can tell you events and energies from throughout your life (because unless we heal and clear these, we continue to carry them.) 

While I may not be able to tell you everything that occurred in your life by looking at your egg. I am able to decipher a number of important energies. Mainly, I am looking for signs of malevolent magic. Malevolent magic is prevalent in our culture and wreaks havoc on our lives, often without us knowing that we are experiencing it. Egg Cleanse Reading Results

Whatever energies that the egg collects are energies that my client has been carrying around with them sometimes for decades. Anything that appears in the glass, has at least been partially removed from my client’s body. If I see malevolent magic in an egg cleanse reading and I have my client’s permission, I work with my Guides to completely clear and transmute this. 

After years of incorporating egg cleanses in my healing practice, I have noticed that they also help to remove the pains, wounds, and traumas that we hold in our bodies (again often unconsciously). I have seen that as we continue to do our healing work, the egg picks up these older energies that are now able to be released. Which means that often as I continue to work with my clients, their egg cleanse reading results show more malevolent magic. Which I always take as a good sign because again if we are seeing it in the glass, it is being removed and often we’ve been carrying that gunk around for a long time, too long.

Receiving an egg cleanse results in a sense of clarity and lightness. Our bodies relax even when we didn’t realize that we were holding tension or experiencing pain. As I said earlier, having an egg rubbed over your body feels wonderful. I have been doing and receiving these for over 12 years. Every time that I receive an egg limpia, I am still amazed at how wonderful it feels.

Removing this gunk can have great impacts on our lives including increasing our energy, improving our emotional state, sleeping better, having greater focus, lowering anxiety, reducing overwhelm, clearing pain, reducing obsessive thinking,  more easily engaging in the flow, and so much more. Like the proverbial frog in the pot, we often don’t realize how bad we’ve been feeling until the gunk gets cleared.

When to Receive an Egg Limpia

Generally before we experience physical symptoms, there has been a disturbance in our energetic field. Ideally, we want to clear this disturbance before it manifests into something physical and requires more effort to heal. Therefore, regular energy hygiene is essential for our wellbeing.

I find egg limpias to be a deep, thorough form of energy hygiene, much more effective than the more common daily forms of energy clearing such as smudging. Consequently, we do not need to do them as frequently (that is assuming that you engage in some form of energy hygiene daily.) If you do energy or healing work for others or consider yourself to be an empath you may need more frequent egg limpias, perhaps every week or 2 weeks.

As a good practice, it is great to receive an egg limpia when you are feeling off, stuck, low energy, anxious, or overwhelmed. Or when you notice that weird, unpleasant things are occurring in your life, perhaps, you are struggling with something that is normally very easy for you or you are suddenly more accident prone or you’re experiencing more conflict than normal. Or after experiencing intense situations including surgeries, hospitalizations, or toxic relationships.

Because of the egg’s capability to remove the energetic imprints from our traumas and wounds, it is helpful to receive egg limpias while engaging in therapy or trauma work. 

Of course, we do not need to wait until something feels bad to receive an egg limpia. I have clients who schedule egg limpias as part of their energy maintenance routine. 

When in doubt, get egged. You may be amazed at the impact a little egg can have on your life.
